What is Community Supported Agriculture?
CSA is an innovative way to connect local farmers with local consumers. Food in the U.S.travels an average of 1,300 miles from farm to supermarket. CSA is a partnership between a farmer and a community of supporters which provides a direct link between growers and consumers. Members purchase a share of the season ’s harvest in advance
of the growing season, sharing the costs, risks and rewards of growing food along with the farmer. CSA builds relationships between growers and consumers that benefit the land, soil, water, and wildlife, as well as the people.
